Dark Highlander! Coming to the TCG

As I read shriek tcg a couple of days ago, I noticed this guy's to be released in the TCG during the summer. July to be exact. Now for those who don't know what he is. Here you go:

Dark Highlander! Epic Looking Right!

Dark Highlander

Dark/ Level 7/ Fiend/ Synchro/ Effect

1 Fiend type tuner + 1 or more non tuner fiend type monsters

While this card is face-up on the field, neither player can Synchro Summon. Once per turn, you can select 1 monster your opponent controls equipped with an Equip Card. Destroy all Equip Cards equipped to that monster, and inflict 400 damage to your opponent for each destroyed card.

Now there are going to be to few decks that are able to summon this. But this being summoned at the right time could seal the game for you. This would be great against synchro focused decks. Shut down their win condition in a single summon. This comes in Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds Manga Vol.1. There can be only one!! Highlander reference if you didn't know.

So that's all for today readers. Check back tomorrow when I begin my monday card review from extreme victory.

Extreme Victory!

Now as May approaches quite quickly and I write this out listening to Panic! At The Disco. Extreme victory is on the horizon. With that being said, what also follows is the psychic otk with the new psychics. Now If you haven't heard of any of the new psychics, they are pretty crazy. They generate alot of advantage quickly. If OTKs isn't your personal type of deck there will be others themes released as well. One I'm personally looking forward to is tech genus AKA TG. They may seem small at first but before you know it, they'll have you looking down a field of large synchros. If you're not a fan of synchros, they is something for you as well. Meklords are something like the anti-synchro hate theme. They abuse your opponents hard work by just simply taking the synchros and abusing them for you. Now if you're not interested in a new theme but an older one like gladiator beasts, six samurai, scraps, blackwings and frogs. All of them get support in the set as well. Now some support is obviously better than others. Every Monday I'm going to a card review from Extreme Victory until the release of the set. Make sure to check it out and keep reading as well. Thanks for reading guys!!

Deck Concept: Heroic Shenanigans

Now for the longest time my favorites decks are heroes and junk and debris types. Like the hero type decks because they're capable of flooding the field with fusions and overwhelm just as well as synchros are capable. Junk and debris type decks I like because they use little plays to make big synchros quickly. This time in Deck concepts, were gonna look at something I like to call heroic shenanigans. It uses heroes to gain advantage and field control. Lets get into the decklist:

Monsters: 18
Elemental Hero Stratos-1
Elemental Hero Alius-3
Elemental Hero Prisma-2
Elemental Hero Ocean-2
Elemental Hero Voltic-1
Debris Dragon-2
King Of The Swamp-3
Cyber Dragon-2
Gorz The Emissary Of Darkness-1
Honest-1

Spell: 17
Miracle Fusion-3
Polymerization-2
E - Emergency Call-2
Super Polymerization-2
Gemini Spark-2
Mystical Space Typhoon-2
Future Fusion-1
Reinforcement Of The Army-1
Monster Reborn-1
Dark Hole-1

Trap: 6
Bottomless Trap Hole-2
Torrential Tribute-1
Mirror Force-1
Hero Blast-1
Solemn Judgment-1

Alright, lets break this hotness down. There are 41 cards in this deck. To bring is down to 40, you can remove the cyber dragons and add a morphing jar instead. This was built with anti-meta in mind but not going for the full idea though. I wanted to be able to synchro in case of those dire situations that a black rose may just win you the game.

King of the Swamp- This is in here to start shenanigans in this deck. You can discard it to search for polymerization. Not to mention its also a water type monster and a debris target. Also, it has a specific fusion usage but well get to that later.

Elemental Hero Prisma- All crystallized, this guy makes an appearance at 2 in this build. Now he sets up plays for the big win. He is kind of like a walking foolish burial with limits of course. Also he's a light type so he's Elemental Hero The Shining material as well.

Elemental Hero Voltic- Now he kind of reminds me of Static Shock lol ,but he doesn't fly on a trash can lid! Instead when he inflicts battle damage to the opp. he can special an e-hero from out of play. Which will happen almost every game. So he's live almost all the time.

The extra deck is interesting, well in my opinion at least. So here it is:

Extra Deck: 15

Ancient Fairy Dragon-1
Black Rose Dragon-1
Gungnir, Dragon Of The Ice Barrier-1
Stardust Dragon-1
Elemental Hero Absolute Zero-3
Elemental Hero The Shining-3
Elemental Hero Terra Firma-2
Elemental Hero Gaia-1
Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste-1
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon-1

Now as you see, this extra deck is made up of more than half in fusions. The reason for that is they are your main win condition here. Lets check out a couple, shall we:

Elemental Hero Absolute Zero: This is a beast in most decks playing it. Its a walking lightning vortex when its removed from the field. Also, it pumps itself up on any other water type monsters on the field. That means the opponents side as well. Not to mention he has a cool looking picture as well!!

Elemental Hero Terra Firma: Now remember when I mentioned King of the swamp as a specific use. Its for this guy right here. You're probably wondering "Hmm... How is that??" Well let me tell ya!! King of the swamp can used as a substitute for a fusion material. But the other has to be correct though. Well Terra Firma calls for e-hero ocean and e-hero woodsman. Well we don't play e-hero woodsman buuuuut....... we DO play e-hero ocean. It only gets better. You can also substitute king of the swamp when using miracle fusion as well. Pretty awesome right??? RIGHT!!!

Gungnir, The Dragon Of The Ice Barrier: Now this has slowly came one of favorite synchros in the last couple months. Debris dragon + king of the swamp = this awesome guy. Its effect can destroy up to two cards on the opponents field by discarding up to two. Pretty good in my book. This guy can set up graveyard for alot of things and clean up two cards on your opponents field as well.

Well thats all from me today! Leave comments and changes etc etc that you personally would make. Ill try them out and let ya know how it goes. Thanks for reading!! Appreciate it!!

Deck Concept: Doppel Synchro

Well, i've been looking for a way to play something with synchro shenanigans after the new format.  I've finally come up with something I may try. Lets get to it!!

Monsters 23

Doppel Warrior-3
Junk Synchron-2
Debris Dragon-2
Cyber Dragon-2
Card Trooper-2
Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter-2
Lonefire Blossom-2
Chaos Sorcerer-2
Gorz-1
Dark Armed Dragon-1
Dandylion-1
Spore-1
Glow Up Bulb-1
Sangan-1

Magic-12

Pot Of Avarice-2
MST-2
Monster Reborn-1
One for One-1
Foolish Burial-1
Reinforcement Of The Army-1
Allure Of Darkness-1
Giant Trunade-1
Enemy Controller-1

Traps-5

Mirror Force-1
Call Of The Haunted-1
Torrential Tribute-1
Solemn Judgment-1
Limit Reverse-1

That's the decklist. The concept I had in mind was to be able to synchro as often as possible by abuse of doppelwarrior and dandylion.  Now lets go through and explain some of the cards.

Doppelwarrior: Now this card is the new dandylion of the format. Now its not as ridiculous as dandylion but the concept of tokens is still there. This does have one thing on dandylion though. Its able to special summon itself from the hand when a monster is special summoned from graveyard. Yes, those ideas popping in your head at the moment probably work. :)

Lonefire Blossom: You're probably wondering "Hmmm there isn't many plants to special into.." If you are thinking that, you are right on that note. But its not about the plants being summoned but thinning the deck and searching for that glow up bulb, dandylion or spore when precisely needed.

Ryko, Lightsworn Hunter: This little guy has seen alot of play last format and that will probably only increase. Now he may be cute but mind you, he is dangerous. Destroying a card and milling three off the top can be wonderful as well as a sealed doom. Overall good card though.

Junk Synchron: This has to be one of my all-time favorite combo cards. He specials a LV 2 or lower from grave in defense and negates the effect. While it hasn't seen alot of play since junk and debris slowed in play. This deck could get it seeing more play than ever. This card should be called combo synchron!! Especially with doppelwarrior!

Well thats all for this deck concept. List comments on what you change in the deck, how you think it would do in the current format and other stuff like that lol. Thanks for reading!

March 2011 Banlist: Real or Not

So there have been some banlists floating around the web for a couple of weeks now and this one catches my eye to be the real one:

Banned:
Goyo Guardian
Cold Wave
Mass Driver

Limited:
Honest
Dandylion
Blackwing-kalut
Book of moon
Gateway of the six

Semi-Limited:
Card trooper
Archlord kristya
Spirit reaper
Debris dragon
Royal tribute
overload fusion
Megamorph
Solemn warning
Icarus attack

Unlimited:
Chaos sorcerer
Demise, king of armageddon
Snipe hunter
Dewloren, king tiger of ice barrier
Gold sarco
Skill drain
Ultimate offering

Now some of you are prolly thinking nice job konami. Not too unbalanced. I'm thinking the same thing. I think they missed some stuff. Like mind master. The OTK with this card will be tcg side in the next 4-5 months. Just long enough to affect the meta. Also, trishula should have been brought down to at least two. Its a devastating card. And with infernities still out there somewhere. Trishula becomes more troublesome. I think they could bring destiny draw to 2. It wouldn't be broken but helpful. One is dead and three is too good.
